Vijay Inder Singla announces date for reopening of schools in Punjab

Reopening of schools in Punjab: Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Wednesday said that in view of the concern of parents regarding education, the Punjab government has decided to reopen all government, semi-government and private schools.

Announcing the date for the reopening of schools in Punjab, Vijay Inder Singla announced that the schools will reopen in Punjab from January 7.

Reopening of schools in Punjab: Vijay Inder Singla said Punjab has decided to reopen all government, semi-government and private schools

Briefing about the school timings, Vijay Inder Singla said that the school hours would be from 10 am to 3 pm and only the students of class 5 to 12 would be allowed to come to the schools and conduct classes.

Vijay Inder Singla further said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh while giving his assent also directed the Education Department to ensure the safety of the children in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also said that following the directions of the Chief Minister, all the school administrators have been asked to strictly follow the instructions issued by the health department so that the risk of coronavirus infection could be averted.

Even as he said that the Education Department had sought the feedback from the Heads of Schools and besides ensuring the safety of the children, the Heads had also requested for reopening of the schools in Punjab before the final revision for the annual examinations of the students.

He also praised the teachers who have acted as real corona warriors for providing quality education facilities to the students.
