Three Punjab Police officials have been suspended and sent to the Police Lines for dereliction of duty during the wedding of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s son in Mohali.

According to information, the three policemen who have been suspended are Jaskaran Singh, Darshan Singh, and Satbir Singh.

They were deployed at the main gate of the wedding venue. Meanwhile, a separate arrangement was made for food for police officials. However, these cops entered the main venue of the function without any permission.

The cops were drunk which was confirmed after a thorough medical examination. Afterward, they were sent to Police Lines.

Meanwhile, inspector Sukhbir Singh has also been suspended for dereliction of duty.

Likewise, the Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence, Punjab, has written a letter to the Punjab DGP and IGP, SPU (CM Security) to strengthen the security of the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

It stated that “one uniformed police officer of CIA staff posted at Kharar (who was intoxicated) crossed the security cordon of the Chief Minister and reached close to the Chief Minister and was seen showing his closeness to the CM Punjab.”

“No attempt was made by the security personnel to stop it. Lady police personnel deployed in civil dress were seen enjoying the atmosphere of the wedding by consuming food/beverages in groups inside the function. During the function, the uniformed personnel were seen near the Chief Minister,” it added.
