Petrol, diesel prices in India hiked for third consecutive day

In a continuous setback for the common man, the petrol and diesel prices in India were hiked across the country for the seventh consecutive day on Monday.

Prices of petrol and diesel in India rise by Rs 0.30 (at Rs 104.44/litre) and Rs 0.35 (at Rs 93.17/litre), respectively, in Delhi on Monday.

Petrol price remains constant in Bhubaneswar, Check fuel rates

In Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 110.41/litre (up by Rs 0.29) and diesel costs Rs 101.03/litre (up by Rs 0.37).

Petrol price has surged to Rs 105.09 in Kolkata while diesel is being sold at Rs 96.28. In Tamil Nadu’s capital city Chennai, petrol is being retailed at Rs 101.79 while diesel is being sold at Rs 97.59.

In Bengaluru, petrol will now cost Rs 108.08 while diesel is being sold at Rs 98.89 per litre.

It is pertinent to mention that the prices differ from state to state depending on the taxes.

The price of petrol has been hiked by 30 paise a litre and diesel by 35 paise, the biggest rally in rates, for seven days in a row.

The recent hike is followed by the rise in international benchmark Brent crude which has soared to over 82 per barrel.
