In a major development, IAS Dharam Pal has been appointed a new Advisor to UT Chandigarh with immediate effect.
The Union home ministry has issued the transfer orders of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre officer.
The order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs stated, “Dharam Pal, IAS (AGMUT:1988) joined the cadre on June 14, 2021. The period from the date of his joining the cadre to the date of issue to this order may be treated as ‘awaiting posting.”
Dharam Pal has replaced outgoing UT advisor Manoj Parida, who has been transferred to Delhi on June 17, six months before the completion of his three-year tenure.
Parida will take over as the chairman of the National Authority of Chemical Weapons Convention.
While leaving, he had said: “I am happy to get a chance to serve in Govt of India at the Secretary level. But I am happier that at least Corona is under Control in Chandigarh when I am leaving.”
Parida had joined as an advisor in December 2018. Parida, who returns to Delhi after two and a half years, will take over as the chairman of the National Authority of Chemical Weapons Convention.
