Aryan Khan regular drug consumer, also involved in drug trafficking: NCB to HC

Mumbai cruise drug case: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has opposed the bail plea filed by actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who was arrested in the case earlier this month.

The NCB alleged that Aryan Khan not only consumed drugs, but was also involved in illicit drug trafficking.

The NCB accused Aryan Khan and one Pooja Dadlani, who is Shah Rukh Khan’s manager, of tampering with the evidence and witnesses in the case in a bid to derail the probe into the Mumbai cruise drug case.

On the other side, the advocates of Aryan Khan informed the High Court that he (Aryan Khan) had nothing to do with the allegations and counter allegations being circulated between NCB’s zonal director Sameer Wankhede and certain political personalities.

The NCB on Tuesday filed its affidavit in response to the bail plea filed by Aryan Khan in the High Court. A single Bench of Justice NW Sambre is likely to take the plea for hearing later in the day.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan on October 21 met his son Aryan Khan who is lodged at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail. According to the jail authorities, the accused were not allowed to have visitors earlier in the wake of the Covid-19, but the restrictions were eased starting October 26. However, only two family members of an inmate are allowed to visit.

Earlier, a special court had refused to grant bail to Aryan Khan and two others in connection with the seizure of drugs. Following this, Aryan Khan moved a bail application in the Bombay High Court against the NDPS court order on his bail rejection.

Also, as a part of the investigation, Bollywood actor Ananya Panday arrived at the Narcotics Control Bureau’s (NCB) Mumbai office after the probe agency summoned her for questioning in connection with the Mumbai cruise drug case on October 21-22.

An NCB team busted an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia cruise ship which was on its way to Goa at mid-sea on October 2. A total of 20 persons, including two Nigerian nationals, have been arrested so far in the case.
